Phototherapy is a skin disease medication by Irradiating Ultraviolet B (UVB)

Skin disease treatments by UVB originally use Broadband UVB at wavelength between 290 – 320 nm. but leave with some side effects following the treatment. This led to the development of the new bulb having Narrowband UVB at wavelength 311 nm. delivering much more effective results, safer and more delicate that can be used in children.

Your specialist will examine the Minimal Erythema Dose (MED), it is the point of the least radiation that can turn the patient’s skin to redness to designate the pulse of UVB emitting at the first time. The Phototherapy requires 3 – 5 times per week and less often after the skin disease start to disappear.

Why Phototherapy? Can the medicines cure?

In Psoriasis and Erythroderma patients, steroid may help the disease cured but this has limitation and long term in medicine usage may cause side effects such as fragile skin, stretch mark, blood veins occurring more at the skin and even re-state of the disease which are much less found in Phototherapy treatment.

Can I just go out for sunbathing instead of Phototherapy?

That will be very hazardous for the skin because sunbeam is a broadband wavelength, at some wavelength duration can harm your skin seriously such as sunburn and immunosuppression. Phototherapy with the UV7002 device will specifically emit wavelength 311 nm., which is the most suitable for medication of all inflammatory skin diseases.
